A social media post pertaining to the improper wearing of police uniform has put the former Public Information Officer of Albay Police Provincial Command in a spotlight.

Legazpi City, [06.06.18] – [UPDATED] The Provincial Director of National Police Commission [NAPOLCOM] has issued a word of caution to police officers pertaining to the strict adherence to the Letter of Letter of Instruction “Tamang Bihis” (proper attire), at all times to escape from the scathing prying public eyes against policemen.
Atty. Louie Toldanes, Provincial Director of the National Police Commission – Albay to be extra watchful about Letter of Instruction or “Tamang Bihis” to avoid problem that has befallen on Police Senior Inspector Emmanuel Ramos, the former public information officer of Albay Plice Provincial Command.
Provincial Director Toldanes in a phone interview explained that “do not trust anyone when it comes to the improper wearing of police uniform especially in the discharge of official function in public,” he said.
The infraction committed by Police Senior Inspector Ramos for not properly wearing his uniform is considered as a misconduct and is of lesser administrative disciplinary sanction with a minimum of one month suspension and maximum suspension of six months, Toldanes explained.
But the administrative complaint against Ramos is yet to be filed at the NAPOLCOM – Albay, Toldanes ended.
Police Senior Inspector Ramos was transferred to the Directorate of Operation, a PRO5 police official confirmed.
The glitch has stemmed after a social post has reached the attention of the leadership of Police Regional Office – 5: Ramos photo wearing a short while donning the upper polo during a live interview over Radyo Uno Legazpi DWCT AM 1557 kHz.
He was requested to be the guest in a radio program hosted by Leon Barcellano in his radio show over the week end.
Ramos admitted to his shortcomings in donning his upper uniform inappropriately but made his request to the program anchor to wear the upper garment for photo ops as a proof of his attendance in the program which is needed for police community relation purposes, a highly paced sourced told the www.philexaminer.com
However, somebody from the radio station took a photo and posted the picture in the social media without a prior consent from the police officer.
The social media posting has created backlash from the netizens against Ramos who admitted responsibility towards his decision to wear his uniform in an authorized manner, but he also felt betrayed by the anchor by not respecting on their tacit agreement not to post the photo on social media without his consent, the source ended.
