A lady septuagerian who is visiting her sibling and a quinquagenarian woman perished in the stormy waters of Mobo town as huge waves engulfed their ill-omened sea craft.

drowningMasbate City, [06.03.18] – Two elderly women who were on a family trip to pay a visit to a relative did not made it after they were drowned as their ill-fated motorized boat capsized off the waters Barangay Tugbo, Mobo, Masbate this afternoon.

The victims were identified as Erna Rabino y Gutierrez, 78 years old, widow and resident of Barangay Hillside, Kinamaligan Masbate City and Teresita Garganera y Rabino, 59 years old, married, housewife and resident of Cataingan, Masbate, a a drowning incident report reaching the Regional Public Information Office in Camp Simeon A. Ola said.

The incident occurred at 11:20 o’ clock in the morning  in the municipal sea waters off Tugbo, Mobo, Masbate.

A motorized banca, owned by Nila Valencia y Delarosa, 50 years old, married and resident of Cagba, Masbate City was loaded with 14 passengers on board came from Cagba, Tugbo, Masbate City and is bound for Sitio Licuson, Barangay Luyong Catungan, Mobo, Masbate to visit the sister of the victim, Erna Rabina.

While the sea vessel was navigating the water of Tugbo when big waves suddenly hit the boat that caused to it overturn.

Other passengers were rescued by the residents who responded to the vessel in distress and was was able to rescue passengers and their valuables.
