The residents’ pleas who are living nearby is in vain as the school principal pushes for the construction of the school fence of Sogod National High School.
Sogod, Bacacay, Albay, [05.31.18] – Access denied as the request of the eight families residing inside the Sibbaluca compound situated at the back of Sogod National High School was disallowed by the school principal to give way to the fencing of the school campus.
An official of Sogod National High School disclosed in an interview with www.philexaminer.com about the impending closure of the school yard to passers-by.
The school official has cited the school principal decision to implement the Department of Education Memorandum Order one gate policy.
“It is for the safety measure of the school to make its students safe within the school premise during classes,” the official explained.
Residents of Sibbaluca compound will now use the barangay road as they will not be given an access to the school yard as the fencing project will stand in the way in coming days.
As their requests were denied – Mrs. Remedios Bataller,76 years old and Jerson Ilampara will be forced to use the make their lengthy route going to the barangay road.
Jerson Ilampara who is suffering an ailment will be encountering an extended route just to catch an ambulance going to the hospital.
In the same vein Mrs. Rosario Sibbaluca, one of the resident of Sibbaluca compound has echoed the same sentiment: to give them access using the school yard which is a short route going to the barangay road.
An alley which was already provided to the residents of Sibbaluca compound are having hesitations on the constructed alley for security reasons.
Residents are objecting to use the access road because of lack of lamp posts at night which make the residents weary walking at night.
However, the out-going Sogod Punong Barangay Gregorio Bermas, Jr and is elected as a village councilor has assured the residents that the alley will be provided with lightings.
