Tabaco City, [04.29.18] – The fate of eleven trees planted inside the patio of St. John the Baptist are sealed and their demise are imminent as this was confirmed to be deliberately poisoned by unknown reasons and purposes, Tabaco City CENRO head, Reynold Martirez said in a radio interview over the weekend.

In a radio interview over One Radio “Tok-Tok sa Konsensya” radio program CENRO Martirez has established his conclusion that the dying trees inside the church yard was harmed by a poisonous substance although – he did not categorically divulged the name of the substance used.

According to Martirez, the culprit has deliberately committed an act against the usual procedure by boring the tree trunks using a drill to apply the poisonous substance clandistinely, instead of seeking a cutting permit.

“They will just submit a permit to cut in our office and we will issue an approval as soon as they applied for it citing justification why they have to be cut, why they resorted to the illegal way,” Martirez expressed his disappointment on air.

All of the eleven trees planted beside the church has a drilled holes and the once green foliage that provides shades to churchgoers are now slowly turning into brownish clearly indicating of their imminent deaths.

In an attempt to ask the candle vendors inside St. John the Baptist has refused to issue statement if they had witnessed any possible culprit/s responsible to the drilling of the trees.

No one even knew who ordered the piercing and why it should be carried out as the Parish officials of St. John the Baptist can not be reached for comment as of posting time.
