Camp General Simeon A. Ola, Legazpi City, [04.10.18] – At least three body counts, while five captured suspected members of local communist guerrillas in a one hour encounter in the vicinity of Bato, Camarines Sur this morning, a report said.

PRO -5 Regional Public Information Office head, Police Senior Inspector Malu C. Calubaquib quoted the Bato Municipal Police Station police report.

An encounter between the elements of MBR 83rd, Bravo Company, Philippine Army under 1st Lieutenant Hiponia and members of New People’s Army Larangan 1, Kilusang Propaganda 5 had an bloody encounter at about 6:45 o’ clock in the morning in Bato, Camarines Sur.

The encounter has resulted to recovery of three body counts, five captured with two wounded from the rebel side and three M 16 assault rifles with no casualties on the government troops, the report said.

Identities of the rebels are still being withheld as of posting time.
