drowningLegazpi City, [04.01.18] – Two tragic reports about drowning incidents marked the start of  April Fools Day were recorded this morning in Sipocot, Camarines Sur and Matnog, Sorsogon as dreadful Sunday, a reports reaching Camp Simeon A. Ola said.

In a report from the PRO – 5, Regional Public Information Office the first drowning incident report from Tikling Island Beach, Barangay Calintaan, Matnog, Sorsogon was reported by Matnog Municipal Police Station.

The island drowning incident transpired at 6:40 o’ clock in the morning and the victim was identified as Ashley Atanacio y Beatriz, 12 years old single, a resident of Barangay Tacbong, Pili, Camarines Sur.

The victim, together with her friend, Janine Kate Maclang were swimming  when a big wave hit them and a strong current swept the duo into the deep portion of  the sea that resulted to the victim to get drowned, initial report said.

The 12 years old was brought to Matnog Medicare Hospital for medical assistance but was pronounced dead on arrival by the attending physician but her friend, Janine Kate Maclang survived.

Meanwhile, another drowning incident at 7:00 o’ clock in the morning in Barangay Manga, Sipocot, Camarines Sur was also reported to Sipocot Municipal Police Station.

The victim was identified as Samuel Garcia y Callora, 27 years old, single, a resident of Barangay Manga.

The victim together were swimming at the seawaters of Barangay Manga, Sipocot, Camarines Sur, got drowned. The victim’s brother tried to revive the victim and was brought to Bicol Sanitarium Hospital in Barangay San Pedro in the nearby Cabusao town but was pronounced dead on arrival by the attending physician, police report said.

The victim has an orthopedic implant on his leg and believed to have suffered a leg spasm while swimming has caused the victim’s drowning, the report ended.
