Legazpi City, [10.10.17] – A male garbage man has discovered a female fetus discarded like a trash by still unidentified suspect inside the Tiwi Municipal Dumpsite at 7:00 o’ clock in the morning today.

The discovery of the unborn was reported to Tiwi Municipal Police Station this morning by Berting Cillano y Cornillo, 28 years old garbage collector.

The fetus was wrapped in a plastic bag when discovered by Cillano and was brought to Ziga Memorial District Hospital in Tabaco City for post-mortem examination.

This is the second discovery of an abandoned unborn in the 1st District of Albay following the discovery of a fetus dumped in a canal at Purok 3, Barangay Sto. Cristo Tabaco City last week.

Police has to effect arrest on the suspects on these two cases of forced abortions in Tabaco City and Tiwi.

The act is criminalized by Philippine law. Articles 256, 258 and 259 of the Revised Penal Code of the Philippines mandate imprisonment for women who undergo abortion, as well as for any person who assists in the procedure.
