Legazpi City, [08.05.17][Updated] A suspected drug personality was reportedly killed in a buy-bust operation at dusk, while his sister was arrested by police in Purok 5, Barangay Tinago, Ligao City, police report said.

In a report submitted to Albay Police Provincial Office by Ligao City Police Station, a joint anti-narcotics operation was launched joint personnel of Ligao Ligao City Police Station led by Police Superintendent Lea B. Supelana, Chief of Police, Provincial Intelligence Branch – Albay PPO led by Police Superintendent  Dennis B. Balla, Regional Intelligence Division 5/Regional Drug Enforcement Unit, Regional Intelligence Unit 5, 5th Regional Public Safety Battalion-PSC and Albay Provincial Public Safety Company, simultaneously implemented two Search Warrants No. 2017-12 and Search Warrant No. 2017-13, respectively, issued by Hon. Edwin C Ma-Alat, Executive Judge, Regional Trial Court Branch 14, Ligao City at the residence of Emma Viterbo y Januhan, 40 years old, married and her brother, Marcelino Viterbo aka “Lino”.

Investigation disclosed that upon arrival of the operating team, Marcelino  scampered to his house, took a hand gun and fired upon the aforesaid team, prompting the policemen to shoot the suspect.

The suspect was immediately brought to Josefina Belmonte Duran Memorial District Hospital, Tuburan, Ligao City for immediate medical treatment but was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.

The SOCO team led by Police Chief Inspector Floranza T. Nobleza recovered the following items from the house of Lino Viterbo: one  calibre .38 revolver with serial number 27593, loaded with one  fired cartridge case and five  live ammunition; three crumpled foil; one opened transparent plastic sachet containing residue of white crystalline; one  white porcelain bowl containing white crystalline substance suspected to be “shabu”, nine  pieces heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing white crystalline substance suspected to be “shabu”; one opened transparent plastic sachet containing residue of suspected “shabu”; two pieces foil strip; one glass tooter; one 9mm fired cartridge case; several unused plastic sachet; four lighters; one  improvised knife with scabbard; Php98.00; one black ILLY cellular phone; one  rolled foil; three  pairs of scissors; one wrist watch; and one ring.

 While at the house of Emma, following pieces of evidence were seized: seven  heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing white crystalline substance suspected to be “shabu”; seven opened transparent plastic sachet containing residue of suspected “shabu”; four pieces aluminum foil; two pairs of scissors; three improvised tooters; six pieces ligther; one Marlboro empty pack; one plastic toolbox; eighteen empty sachets; one big heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing suspected “shabu” and fifteen units of cellular phones of different brands.

Last May 8, 2017, a buy-bust has also ended into a bloody police operation when a suspected drug pusher was subsequently killed in Purok 4, Binatagan, Ligao City, after allegedly trying to fight it out with the arresting officers.

The victim was identified as Relan Sigfred Suruiz y Hugo, male of Paulog, Ligao City.
