Legazpi City, [06.13.17] – At least nineteen members of CPP-NPA Members in the province of Masbate has surrendered and renewed their allegiance to the government on Tuesday afternoon in Milagros town, a report reaching Camp Simeon A. Ola said.
According to Police Senior Inspector Maria Luisa Calubaquib, Spokesperson of Regional Police Office – 5 the ceremony was held at 1:30 o’ clock in the afternoon of June 13, 2017 at the headquarters of 2nd Infantry Battalion, 9th Infantry Division, Philippine Army located at Sitio Baclay, Milagros, Masbate.
The activity was attended by Brigadier General Fernando T. Trinidad, Brigade Commander, 903rd, 9th Infantry Division, Philippine Army, Police Senior Superintendent Froilan P. Elopre, Provincial Director, Masbate Police Provincial Office; AFP personnel, PNP personnel and media personnel in the province.
The activity was highlighted by the turn-over of assorted firearms to the Armed Forces of the Philippines. Five M16 Rifles, one M653; one M2 Carbine; two Shotguns; one caliber .45 pistol; three caliber .38 pistol and sets of AFP uniforms.
The identities of the surrenderers from Larangan 1, Komiteng Probinsiya 4, Masbate are withheld for security purposes while undergoing custodial tactical debriefing.
The surrender was initiated by the joint elements of 96th Military Intelligence Company and Intelligence Platoon, 2nd Infantry Battalion, 9th Infantry Division, Philippine Army, 5th Regional Publc Safety Battalion with Masbate Police Provincial Office, the report ended.
