Legazpi City, [06.13.17] – A Maranao businessman is the latest victim of fatal shooting in the Daraga, Albay, a sketchy police report said.

The shooting incident transpired at 6:15 o’ clock in the evening along T. Perez Street, Barangay Market Site, Daraga, Albay.

The victim was identified as Jamael Malawi, 33 years old, married, businessman, a native of Lanao del Sur and temporarily residing at T. Perez  Street.

He was shot the different parts of his body resulting to his untimely death by still unidentified gunman.

The gunman was seen by witness as stout, white complexion, 5’6″ to 5’7″ in height wearing orange t-shirt and dark maong pants with blackgreen backpack hurriedly fled the crime scene by passing through the interior portion of the public market.

The victim was brought to Bicol Regional Training and Teaching Hospital but was pronounced dead-on-arrival by the attending physician.

The Malawi killing is the third shooting incident recorded in Daraga, Albay, the first shooting incident took place in Doña Paquita Subdivision, Purok 4, Barangay Bañag, Daraga, Albay on April 24.

The victim was identified as Marcial Cerezo y Tania, of legal age, single, a resident of said place.

Last May 23, thirty days after the Cerezo killing, another shooting incident was recorded in Pag-Asa 2, Barangay San Roque, Daraga, Albay.

Christian Lomangaya, a.k.a. “Antonio Lomangaya”/”Entoy Malaca y Macasinag”, single a native of Donsol, Sorsogon and presently residing at Purok 7, Pag-Asa 2, Barangay San Roque, Daraga, Albay was killed by masked killers.

Suspects in these previous killings are all at-large.

In the same vein,  the Malawi killing is the second incident where transient Maranaw were killed in Daraga, Albay.
