Legazpi City, [05.09.17] – Four suspected drug pushers were arrested by police in a latest buy-bust operation this afternoon in Purok 2, Barangay Rawis, Legazpi City.
According to Police Senior Inspector Arthur R. Gomez, Albay Police Povincial Office Public Inforation Officer, the buy-bust operation was conducted at 5:40 o’ clock in the afternoon inside a boarding house owned by Rafaela Albor in Purok 2, Barangay Rawis.
The joint operatives of Legazpi City Police Station led by Police Senior Inspector Paluyo, Albay- Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit, Regional Intelligence Division -5, Regional Drug Enforcement Unit, Regional Public Safety Battalion and PDEA Albay Provincial Office conducted buy-bust operation against Francis Almayda y Sadia, PSI Ramirez said.
Aside from Almayda, three other suspects were also arrested by authorities, they were identified as; Honor Gonzales y Bercasio, 38 years old, single, Habal-Habal driver, resident of La Playa Village, Barangay Bonot, Legazpi City, Ramon Azaña y Biazon, 29 years old, single, jobless, resident of Purok 3, Barangay Sabang, Legazpi City, Arnol Serrano y Abines, 38 years old, single, jobless, resident of Purok 1, Barangay 28, Victory Village, Legazpi City.
Police operatives seized the following drugs and non-drug items from the suspects possession such as; eleven  pieces heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing white crystalline substance suspected to be methamphetamine hydrochloride, one  heat sealed transparent plastic sachet containing suspected marijuana leaves and seeds, one (1) piece strip of aluminum foil with residue of white crystalline substance suspected to be methamphetamine hydrochloride, two  pieces disposable lighters with improvised burners, one  piece rolled cigarette foil used as improvised tooter, one (1) piece stainless scissor and one piece of Php500.00 bill used as buy-bust money. The arrested suspects were brought to BRTTH for physical and medical examination and the recovered illegal drugs were brought to Regional Crime Laboratory Office at Camp Simeon A. Ola for laboratory examination.
No official statement yet from Legazpi City Police Station on the the actual weight of seized illegal drugs as of posting time.
In July 2016, the 26 years old brother of Francis, Michael Almayda y Sadia, died in the onset of the implementation of Oplan Double Barrel Alpha when he fought against the arresting team of Legazpi City Police and Albay PNP Provincial Intelligence Branch who hatched an anti-narcotics buy-bust operation.
The operation has resulted also to the arrest of the following persons namely; Edgardo Almayda y Ala, 71 years old , married, Niño Almayda y Sadia, 29 years old and Norby Alzaga y Arias, 39 years old and recovery of the twelve  pieces heat-seald suspected shabu and one  caliber .38 revolver.
Police also discovered an active bank deposit amounting to more than PhP 170 thousand in the name of Edgardo Almayda, the father of the victim.
