Legazpi City, [03.04.17] – The elected Barangay Chairman [Punong Barangay] of Barangay Lohong, Ragay, Camarines Sur was arrested on Saturday for illegal possesions of high-powered firearms and ammunitions, a belated report reaching Camp Simeon A. Ola.
In a report by Police Chief Inspector Christopher F. Aduviso, Acting Chief of Police, Ragay Municipal Police Station to Camp Ola, the incumbent Association of Barangay Chairman of Ragay, Camarines Sur was arrested by authorities at 6:15 o’ clock in the morning of April 1, 2017.
The team of Camarines Sur Criminal Investigation and Detection Team led the joint arresting team with elements of Police Intelligence Branch – Camarines Sur Police Provincial Office [PIB-CSPPO], Ragay Municipal Police Station and Del Gallego Ragay Municipal Police Station to implement the search warrant against the suspect.
A search warrant number 2017-06 dated March 30, 2017 violation of Republic Act 10591 was issued by Judge Cecilia Borja – Soler, Libmanan Regional Trial Court, Branch 29 against Petronillo Mercado y Gutierez.
The searching team has confiscated from the suspect’s possession one M16 Armalite rifle with serial number RP 104965 loaded with 10 live ammunitions, one M3 Grease sub-machne gun with serial number 203089 with one magazine loaded with one live ammunition and one Armscor caliber .45 wth serial number 143728.
The suspect and siezed items is now under the custody of CIDG – Camarines Sur.
