Legazpi City, [03.16.17] – Another rascal Ilocano police officer is involved in a shooting incident that killed a fisherman in Claveria, Masbate on Wednesday, a report reaching Camp Simeon A. Ola said.
Police report identified the victim as Argie S. Urbano, 27 years old of Claveria town.
The shooting that lead to the untimely death of the victim started in an altercation and fist fight over a cellphone that was unintentionally dropped on the seashore.
Urbano together with his cousin were lying on the seashore along the seawall in Sitio Intramuros, Barangay Poblacion District 1 in Claveria at 2:45 o’ clock early dawn Wednesday, when the two exchaged arguments.
In the middle of the fight, the suspect Police Officer 1 Rodney Mark R. Oller drew his service firearm and shot his victim in the stomach.
Urbano died on the spot and the suspect fled from the scene of the crime.
An empty shell from caliber .45 pistol was recovered from the scene, Police Chief Inspector Jonathan Apili, chief of the Claveria Municipal Police station said.
A progress report added that Oller had voluntarily surrendered to the 5th Regional Public Safety Battalion [RPSB] based in Milagros, Masbate and admitted the crime.
The Agoo, La Union native is presently assigned in 5th Regional Public Safety Battalion was formally turned-over to Claveria Municipal Police Station by his platoon leader, Police Inspector Glen Alumit.
