Legazpi City, [03.15.17] – At least one dead body was reportedly retrieved by army soldiers in an encounter between the troops of 9th Infantry Battalion, Philippine Army and suspected communist rebels this morning in Barangay Itok, Capalonga, Camarines Norte, a report reaching Camp Simeon A. Ola said.
According to Police Senior Inspector Maria Luisa C. Calubaquib, spokesperson of PR0-5 Regional Public Information Office, the encounter occurred at 5:30 o’ clock in the morning of March 15, 2017.
A squad of 9th Infantry Battalion, Philippine Army led by Staff Sergeant Hernandez had an encounter with an estimated five rebels suspected to be communist members.
Meanwhile, the mother of slain guerrilla Arden Napili y Drice has claimed the cadaver of her son in Lagonoy, Camarines Sur on Tuesday.
Mrs. Genelia Drice-Napilithe mother of Arden has positively identified her son and she presented the certificate of live birth to the Lagonoy police.
She was accompanied by Barangay Kagawad Arvin Guevarra of Sisigon, Matnog, Sorsogon together with Vida Asuncion Barcenas, a staff member of Karapatan – Bikol.
The 25 years old guerilla died in an encounter with the troops of 83rd Infantry Battalion, 9th Infantry Division, Philippine Army in Barangay Pinamihagan, Lagonoy, Camarines Sur last March 12, 2017.
His comrades, “Ka Jerome” and “Ka Paeng” of Larangan 1, Kilusang Propaganda 2, CPP/NPA had manage to escape after the encounter.
