Navigating with Sense
The Philippine Examiner is now in its one year existence as an online publication. All through out, we looked back the date that was [February 26, 2016] with sense of pride and accomplishments as we face challenges, battling the financial woes as a new comer in the media industry.
These challenges were enormous and sometimes daunting as we slowly performed our daily journalistic task as a purveyor of news.
The tasks of making sense in the middle of noise and haste – our focus never faltered us to examine the mundane, trivial, absurd to the profound storylines we had witnessed.
All these events that has unfolded in Bikól peninsula, Lupah Sūg and the rest of the country are now part of the past accomplishments we had achieved.
Today, as we still gingerly making our way through from its infancy – The Philippine Examiner will continue to carry on its broad shoulder the journalistic responsibilities as a chronicler of Bikólánó’s journey in particular and the Filipinos’ in general.
The challenge upon us today – is to navigate with sense, to remain honest in our pursuit of our vision, that our reportage is the voice of our people.
