Legazpi City, [11.22.16] –  The two  male suspects in the death of two Indian nationals were arrested by authorities in two separate areas in Camarines Sur this afternoon, police report reaching  Camp Simeon A. Ola said.

The shooting incident transpired along Rolando Andaya highway portion of Barangay Cabutagan, Lupi, Camarines Sur when the suspects, Marvin Magdaong y Vasquez, 40 years old, married, resident of Barangay South Centro, Sipocot, Camarines Sur and Rodolfo Gumatay y Talinghi, 53 years old married, resident of Dasmariñas, Cavite.

They shot the victims several times while on board in a white Mistubishi Strada with plate number NIE-163 that caused their death.

The victims were identified by the police as Bahagwant Singh Buttar, 45 years old and Jaswinder Kaur, 36 years old, married, both Indian nationals and presently residing of Barangay San Bartolome, Sipocot, Camarines Sur.

The shooting incident was accidentally seen by Roberto M.  Matamorosa, Municipal Mayor of Lupi, Camarines Sur who was traversing the Andaya highway. Matamorosa’s security aide, Police Officer 1 Jeric M. Matamorosa helped the victim and tried to stop the suspects from fleeing the crime scene.

Police Officer 1 Matamorosa traded shots against Marvin Magdaong, one of the suspect until Magdaong was neutralized  after he was wounded in the shoot out, while the other suspect, Rodolfo Gumatay y Talingi,  managed  to fled heading toward Ragay, Camarines Sur using the Yamaha DT Motorcycle.

Gumatay was later arrested at Sitio Nabuntugan, Banga Caves, Ragay, Camarines Sur by the joint element of Lupi Municipal Police Station led by Police Senior Inspector Jorgelito B. Alforte, Ragay Municipal Police Station  led by Police Senior Inspector Christopher Aduviso and personnel of 92ND Division Reconnaissance Company [DRC] Philippine Army.
