Cotabato City, [04.14.15]–The founding chairman of the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters [BIFF] is dead, Abu Misri Mama told The Philippine Examiner this afternoon.

In a phone interview today, Abu Misri BIFF Spokesperson has confirmed the news that their founder Ustadz Ameril Umbra Kato died at 2:00 o’ clock early dawn today in an undisclosed area in Mindanao, due to the lingering ailment.

Kato who founded the BIFF after splitting with the Moro Islamic Liberation Front [MILF] suffered stroke sometime in 2011.

Kato is now replaced by Sheik Esmail Abubakar, his former vice chair, while Abu Misri Mama will remain as the Spokesperson of the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters.

BIFF will continue to fight for attainment of freedom of the Bangsamoro under the vision of Islamic state, Misri ended.
