Masbate City [07.29.16] – The prime suspect in the Quiapo road rage was arrested by authorities at his residence in Barangay Poblacion East, Milagros, Masbate, police report said.

Private Vhon Martin Tanto, an Army reservist was arrested by a combined elements of 9th Infantry Battalion, Intelligence Service Units of the Philippine Army and PNP Masbate at 11:52 Friday.

Tanto’s location was learned by the authorities after his wife contacted a fellow army reservist and arranged his plan to surrender.

The suspect is now under police custody in Masbate.

Tanto who was carrying a Php 100,000.00 reward for his capture was placed under a nationwide police manhunt operations, after he shot to death Mark Vincent Garalde in downtown Quiapo last Monday night.

The Army reservist vehicle, a red Hyundai Eon bearing the conduction sticker MO-3745 was tracked down by the Highway Patrol Group Task Force Limbas Purok 3, Kirang Aritao, Nueva Vizcaya.

The car was discovered  by Task Force Limbas operatives was parked inside the house of Tanto’s brother-in-law, Jonathan Leano an ex-marine, PNP Highway Patrol Group Director, Police Senior Supertendent Antonio Gardiola said in a statement.
