Camp Simeon A. Ola, Legazpi City [05.16.16] –  The safe conduct of national and local election in the province of Masbate was successfully achieved by Regional Special Operation Task Group – Masbate [RSOTG-Masbate] without any recorded election related violence since the campaign period started last March 25 to May 7, 2016.

Records has showed that the mission of the Police Regional Office – 5 to ensure a conduct of a peaceful election in Masbate, that no candidates aspiring for a local elective post in the province are safe during the entire campaign period is achieved, Police Chief Inspector Arthur R. Gomez, Public Information Officer of the Regional Special Operation Task Group – Masbate [RSOTG-Masbate] said in an interview with The Philippine Examiner.

During the same period, the Special Task Force has achieved a sterling performance under the leadership of Police Senior Superintendent Lito B. Pitallano, the head of Regional Special Operation Task Group – Masbate [RSOTG-Masbate], Police Chief Inspector Gomez added.

The RSTOG  Masbate  has confiscated 167 fire arms, 10 explosives, 11 arrested private arm group members including the leaders of Arizoval, Villaruel and Del Rosario groups and 4,218 vehicles impounded [van, motorcycle, truck]. All these vehicles were used, either transporting firearms or explosives and other violations of Comelec gun ban.

The RSOTG – Masbate’s performance has earned praises from PNP Chief Director General Ricardo Marquez for the job well done, Police Senior Inspector Maria Luisa C. Calubaquib, the PRO – 5 Public Information Officer, also said.

The province of Masbate was the only province in Bikol region placed under the Comelec watchlist where the Bikol PNP has accomplished zero violence.

Other provinces in the country who were placed under Comelec watchlist are Abra, Nueva Ecija, Lanao Del Norte,Pangasinan, Masbate, Negros Oriental, Lanao Del Sur, Maguindanao, and Western Samar.
