Jolo, Sulu [04.27.16] –  The headless body of John Ridsdel was recovered at  12:27 this afternoon by the elements of Talipao Police in Sitio Tibangao, Barangay Gata, Talipao, Sulu.

The discovery of the missing body of the Canadian national came out two days after he was beheaded by his Abu Sayaff Group captors on April 25, 2016 somewhere in the hinterland of Bud Bangkal, Patikul Sulu.

In a report sent to The Philippine Examiner,  the execution was carried Monday afternoon by the group under Ben Tatoh Sawadjaan after the ransom payment did not materialized.

John Ridsdel,  68 years old a former mining executive from Calgary, Canada was captured by Abu Sayaff bandits in Holiday Oceanview Resort, Samal Island together with his fellow Canadian Robert Hall, 50,  Norwegian resort manager Kjartan Sekkingstad and Filipina, Maritess Flor on September 25, 2015.

The three captives are still in the hands of Abu Sayaff and are being held in captivity for almost seven months now.
