Datu Abdullah Sangki Ampatuan, Maguindanao – [12.28.15] – The Spokesperson of the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters [BIFF] belied on Sunday the claim of the Government of the Republic of the Philippines [GRP] inviting the BIFF to take part in the peace process in Central Mindanao.
In a phone interview with Abu Misri Mama, the Spokesperson of the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters has denied the allegation receiving an invitation coming from the government peace panel.
Abu Misri Mama told The Philippine Examiner that they do not receive yet any relative information coming from the office of Miriam Coronel-Ferrer’s invitation to take part in the peace process.
The BIFF who owned responsibility to the attack against the government detachment in Esperanza, Sultan Kudarat last December 24, which has resulted in the death of seven CAFGU members.
The attack against the militiamen was carried out due to land grabbing issue in the boundary between Esperanza and Datu Abdullah Sangki Ampatuan, Maguindanao towns, that prompted the BIFF to call Maguindanao Governor Esmael “Toto” Mangudadatu to pull-out the military and solve the issue of rampant land grabbing being perpetrated by the group of “Ilaga.”
There can be no peace in Central Mindanao unless the rampant land grabbing issue against the native Maguindanaoans are stopped, Misri explained.
It can be recalled that a national media outfit has quoted Ferrer in a statement last week calling the leadership of the BIFF to take part in the peace process and listen to the plea of their own brothers and sisters to give peace a chance in Mindanao.
Ferrer was also quoted asking the leaders of the BIFF to reconsider their violent ways and blaming the group in the death of civilians to heed the people’s desire for peace.
