Jolo, Sulu, [11.27.15] – The second suspected person who is allegedly involved in the deadly roadside bombing in Barangay Kagay, Indanan, Sulu was arrested by the authorities in downtown Jolo yesterday, PNP-SAF said.
The dragnet operation was launched by joint elements of 84th SAC,52nd SAC,24th SAC,NISG Western Mindanao Command, CIDG Western Mindanao against the suspect, Saddam Jailani.
Jailani was arrested by virtue of warrant of arrests issued by Judge Alexander N.V Acosta of Regional Trial Court Branch 4, Region 9 for multiple murder with criminal case numbers 118-4, 1119, and 1120-4 and CBU 99402/99404 in LBC at Marina Road, Jolo, Sulu.
Jailani, 25 years old, married is the son of the former Basilan-based Moro National Liberation Front Commander, Basiri Jailani is implicated in the infamous Kagay, Indanan, Sulu bombing in September 29, 2009 bombing, a ranking police official said.
The roadside bombing has killed two American soldiers, a Filipino Marine soldier and the wounding three others, making him a high profile Filipino bomber listed as most wanted person by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. He is also allegedly involved in the bloody Zamboanga siege, the source added.
Also, In June 1, 2014, Mihaji Hamjuda – another suspected person who is allegedly participated in the same bombing was earlier arrested by the troops of Criminal Investigation and Detection Group [CIDG] under Police Chief Superintendent Benjamin Magalong inside a cockpit [Pagtatakbian or Tarik] in Indanan town.
The warrant of arrest of Hamjuda was also issued by the presiding judge of the Regional Trial Court [RTC]-9th Judicial Region, Branch 4 in Parang town.
Like Jailani, Hamjuda has also three standing warrants for multiple murder and frustrated murder. He is said to be also in the roadside bombing, another reliable source said.
