nparebelsLegazpi City, [12.30.18] – A fifteen minutes armed encounter between the government troops and communist rebels was reported this morning in Sitio Manlapat, Barangay Baay, Labo, Camarines Norte.

According to a police report reaching Camp BGen. Simeon A. Ola the joint elements of Alpha Company 96 IB, 95MICO, 9MIBMOL, and Delta Company 22IB had a clash at 9:00 o’ clock in the morning with more or less 30 armed groups believed to members of the local terrorist group.

After the in 15 minutes firefight, the enemies had withdrawn towards the direction of Sitio Maniknik, Barangay Maguibway, Tagkawayan, Quezon, leaving their valuables in the encounter site.

Army troopers have recovered the following items after their enemies retreated.

The following items recovered were; three laptops, one external hard drive, seven mobile phones, two ICOM handheld radio sets, one computer printer, seven improvised explosive device [IED], 50 meters detonating wire, 60 live ammunitions for M-14 assault rifle, 20 pieces dental apparatus, 6 pieces sphygmomanometer or blood pressure meter, one sack of assorted medicines, one compact disc drive, one improvised airgun rifle, one guitar, and assorted teaching materials and subversive documents.

There are no reported casualties on the government side the report ended.
