Masbate City, [10.14.18] A trawl who was illegally fishing in the seawaters off  Jintotlo Channel in Jintotolo, Balud, Masbate was apprehended by personnel of the 502nd Maritime Police Station this morning, a police report said.  

A seaborne patrol operation led by Police Senior Inspector Alvin D. Santillan has arrested the crews of FB Sarah Joy.

The trawl was spotted by the authorities at around 5:39.39 in at seawaters of Jintotolo, Balud, Masbate at a distance of 11.67 kilometers from the shoreline of Jintotolo, Balud, Masbate with grid coordinates of 11•45’38.8″N 123•05’26.5″.

The fishing boat is owned by Ramie Agustin Locaylocay 42 years old, a resident of Jintotolo, Balud, Masbate and was piloted by Elmer Europio Magsico, 50 years old,  a resident of Villasin State, Cadiz City according to Police Senior Inspector Santillan.

The fishing boat, fishing paraphernalia together with its crews were apprehended for violation of Section 86 of Republic Act 10654 are now under the custody of 502nd Maritime Police Station in Barangay Pating, Masbate City.

“To all commercial fishers who wish to enter the territorial waters of Masbate should see to it they have their legal permits to operate including their vessels, but if they do not have we will implement the law against them,” Police Senior Inspector Alvin D.
