NAGA CITY, Camarines Sur – As part of the annual celebration of Peñafrancia Festival this year, “Kusog Bikolandia” has organized a competition that will promote Bicol’ pride through songwriting competition and will be interpreted during the final battle on September 19, this year.
Noel De Luna, chairman of Kusog Bikolandia said that for the first time during the celebration of Peñafrancia Festival in Naga City this September, a songwriting competition for Bikolano writers and composers will take the stage to promote what Bicol has.
“Sa unang pagkakataon, magaganap ang kauna-unahang song writing comperition para sa mga Bikolano song writers at artists, ngayon buwan sa Naga City. Pure Bikolano songs at bukas sa lahat ng genre o style ang kompetisyon. Huhugutin ng mga kalahok ang tema ng kanilang lilikhaing musika, mula sa mission statement ng Kusog Bikolandia na, development, empowerment, leadership, unity, nationalism at autonomy” De Luna said.
“Heto ay bilang pagkilala na rin sa husay at galing ng mga Bikolano sa paglikha ng kanta, kasama na ang pag-promote ng kung ano mayroon ang Bikol,” he added.
De Luna said that at least P200,000.00 at stake for this event.
Deadline of submission of entries will be on September 15, while the grand battle is scheduled on September 19, along with the performance of the country’s rock icon, Mike Hanopol, and multi-awarded rapper Gloc-9.
De Luna said that the event will be free of entrance fees for all Bicolanos and will be held at the University of Nueva Caceres in Naga City.
