The Spokesperson of Jose Rapsing Command – Bagong Hukbong Bayan admits responsibility for the deaths three government troops in Cawayan, Masbate.

Legazpi City, [08.05.18] – The spokesperson of the Jose Rapsing Command of Bagong Hukbong Bayan in the island province of Masbate has admitted responsibilities to the August 3, 2018 ambush in the remote village of Barangay [village] Mactan, Cawayan Masbate, and called their military offensive as successful.
In a press release issued by its spokesperson, LUZ DEL MAR of Jose Rapsing Command Bagong Hukbong Bayan [JRC-BHB Masbate] dated Agosto 3, 2018 has acknowledged the local guerilla front’s overt military offensive against the patrolling elements of two platoons of 2nd Infantry Battalion, Philippine Army on August 3.
At around 8:30 in the morning of Friday while the government troops were on their combat operation in the vicinity of Sitio [sub-village] Mangga, Barangay [village] Mactan, Cawayan, Masbate were waylaid that led to the deaths of three government troops and wounding of several others, the statement claimed.
The clash has lasted twenty minutes and the use of command-detonated explosive (CdEx) in the attack was also used by the local communists, the press statement confirmed.
The use of the command detonated explosion device is a creative explosive device and is not a violation of the Ottawa Treaty, the statement explained.
Meanwhile, the officers of the 2nd Infantry Battalion, Philippine Army, and 22nd Cafgu Battalion has yet to issue the names of the casualties including the wounded government troops in the Friday ambush and an official statement to the Mactan, Cawayan incident.
