The suspect is under detention as he faces charges for violations of Republic Act 10591 and Republic Act 10561.

gubat, sorsogonGubat, Sorsogon, [07.12.18] – A male resident of Barangay Tabi, Gubat, Sorsogon was held by authorities this morning for violations of Section 28 of Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition and Republic Act 10561 [Illegal Possession of Explosives], a police report said.

Gubat Municipal Police Station identified Elmer Españo, Jr alias Willy of Barangay Tabi as the arrested suspect in the implementation of the search warrant at 8:40 o’ clock in the morning.

The search warrant Number2018-07-01 issued by Honorable Judge Bernardo R. Jiminez, Presiding Judge, Regional Trial Court, Gubat, Sorsogon was served by the elements of Police Intelligence Branch, SWAT – Sorsogon Provincial Mobile Force Company, 1st Company and 3rd Platoon, 1st Sorsogon Provincial Mobile Force Company led by Police Superintendent Jimmy M. Pintor.

The searching officer has recovered the following prohibited items inside the suspect’s bedroom: one caliber .45 pistol with serial number 841191, one caliber .40 with serial number 200076, two magazines for caliber .40, one magazine  for caliber .45, one fragmentation grenade, one M203 ammunition, 43 pieces of caliber .40 ammunition and seven pieces of ammunition for caliber .45 pistol.

Españo was subsequently arrested after failing to produce necessary legal documents to possess the recovered items.
