Legazpi City, [07.11.18] – The two persons suspected in the assassination of General Tinio, Nueva Ecija Mayor Ferdinand Bote – were apprehended this morning in a police checkpoint along Andaya National Highway in Barangay Cabasag, Del Gallego, Camarines Sur.

According to report reaching Camp Brigadier General Simeon A. Ola the persons of interest in Mayor Bote’s assassination were identified in the police report as Florencio Suarez, 48 years old, married of 08 FF Extension Barangay Culiat, Quezon City and Robert Gumacay y Vera, 35 years old of Villa Concepcion, Ibingay, Masbate City.

They were apprehended 9:30 in the morning today by the personnel of PNP CPAC Checkpoint along Andaya National Highway in Cabasag, Del Gallego town by the joint operating units from: Detectives of CIDG – Camarines Sur PFU, Camarines Norte CIDG PFU, Nueva Ecija CIDG PFU, CIDG RFU 3, RID PRO3, RID PRO5 , RIU NCR, HPG Camarines Sur, Highway Patrol Group – 5   Del Gallego Municipal Police Station and Camarines Sur Police Provincial Office.

The operation was launched after receiving a call from CIDG 3 that suspicious persons on board Toyota Avanza color beige bearing improvised plate Number PCQ 134 traversing road going to Bicol.

The following firearms, ammunition and other paraphernalia were seized from the suspects and were reported as follow:

  • Eight (8) assorted firearms in a different caliber,
  • numerous ammunition and magazine
  • two (2) hand grenades
  • two (2) rifle grenades
  • three (3) handheld radios
  • two (2) silencers, and
  • other personal belongings

 

The vehicle is now under the custody of Philippine National Police Highway Patrol Group and arrested persons and the confiscated pieces of evidence were placed under the custody of CIDG Camarines Sur PFU office while appropriate cases is being prepared.
